Portsmouth Middle School - Fall Climbing Club - Middle School
$275
Our popular fall middle school rock climbing club returns by popular demand! Designed to build skills and self-confidence, we will help climbers of all abilities (including first-timers!) grow into more seasoned climbers as we tackle Dover Indoor Ascent’s vast toproping walls and MetroRock North’s intensely fun routes in Newburyport. Over the course of this 6 week program, everyone will become comfortable with harnesses and tying the relevant knots. All skill levels are welcome, and all gear and instruction are provided.
Dates: 9/12/2018 to 10/24/2018 - Times: 9/12, 9/19 - 5:00; 9/26, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24 - 6:00

New Castle Elementary Building projects with skis

Open only to New Castle Elementary School students in grades k-2. Let's do something with all of these old skis hanging around! Students will make a coat rack out of one ski and a cool way to display their favorite pictures out of another ski. We have skis, but if a student wants to use their own (or a snowboard) they are welcome to bring them to the class. All gear and instruction are provided.

New Castle Elementary Climbing

Open only to New Castle Elementary School students in grades 3-6. Climb to new heights on the New Heights indoor rock climbing wall and high challenge course! All gear and instruction are provided and no experience is necessary.
Dates: 11/27, 12/4, 12/11, 12/18 - Times: Tuesdays 3:15-5:00

New Castle Elementary Build a Longboard Skateboard!

Open only to New Castle Elementary School students in grades 3-6. Participants will design and craft their own signature longboard to spin around the neighborhood on. Everyone will shape, sand, and paint their boards before mounting trucks, wheels, and grip tape, and taking it out for a spin! All materials, tools, and instruction are included.
Dates: 12/14/2018, 12/21/2018, 1/4/2019 - Times: Fridays 3:15-4:15

Lincoln Street School Ski/Snowboard Club - 5th Grade
$175
As the only ski/snowboard program for 5th graders in the area, we've created this program so that everyone can have fun this winter. We will meet at Lincoln Street School immediately after school, will head over to McIntyre Ski Area, and will return to LSS for parent pick-up. Whether you’re ripping black diamonds or have never seen snow, come take advantage of the benefits of a New England winter! There are only 26 spaces in this program, so don't wait to sign up!
We are also looking for parents who would like to help transport skis and/or chaperone while on the hill. In exchange, you will receive free lift tickets and lots of winter fun!
Lessons are required for first-time skiers/snowboarders only.
Dates: 1/2/2019 to 1/30/2019 - Times: 1/2 until 7pm, 1/9 until 7pm, 1/16 (early release day) until 5pm, 1/30 until 7pm

Coopertive Middle School Winter Climbing Club
$125
Join us as we climb high on the New Heights rock climbing wall and explore the extensive options at a local climbing gym. We’ll spend a few days conquering our fear of heights, building self-confidence, learning knot-tying skills, and just having fun! The final meeting we will head to MetroRock in Newburyport to tackle some of their awesomely fun toprope and bouldering routes. Seasoned climbers as well as those brand new to vertical challenge are welcome to climb with us. All gear and instruction are provided.
Transportation is provided afterschool, and parent pick-up is at New Heights.

Winter Climbing Club - 5th Grade

Our popular 5th Grade rock climbing club returns!! Join us as we climb high on the New Heights rock climbing wall and high challenge elements, before we get to visit the amazing top-rope and bouldering options at MetroRock North in Newburyport. We’ll spend our time conquering our fear of heights, building self-confidence, learning knot-tying and climbing skills, and just having fun! ALL skill levels are welcome (even first-timers!), and ALL gear and instruction are provided.

February Break Middle School Ski Day

February vacation is the time to hit the slopes in NH! Whether you're brand new at skiing or snowboarding, or have been doing it since you were 3 years old, come to Gunstock with us for a great day of shredding the mountain! Rentals and lessons are available for anyone who needs them.

February Break Middle School Adventure Week
$300
Summer shouldn't have all the fun of our popular Adventure Weeks! We're bringing 4 totally different adventure activities to vacation week, so middle schoolers can try out some new sports. This jam-packed program will have us snow tubing in MA, rock climbing in Maine, and indoor surfing and indoor skydiving in NH! No experience necessary, just show up ready to have a blast!

New Castle Elementary Build a Balance Board!

Open only to New Castle Elementary School students in grades 3-6. We've all seen the super cool balance boards that people use for fun, but also for balance training. We're going to make our own! Students will design, sand, and paint thier own decks and then try out their balance on these super fun boards. All gear and instruction are provided.

Newington Build a Longboard

Open only to Newington Public School students. Build your own Longboard! Students will design, sand, paint, put trucks and wheels on their own Longboard! All materials and instruction are provided.

DJ Bakie Elementary Ski/Snowboard Club - 5th Grade

Wilderness Skills - 5th Grade

Ever wanted to learn some wilderness survival skills? Now's your chance! We will build debris shelters out in the woods, try our hand at making a fire with a bow drill, and perfect our cooking on backcountry stoves.

April Break 5th Grade Adventure Week

Adventure Scrambler - Middle School

FIRST LEGO League (Monday & Friday) - 6th-9th Grade

Entering into our 8th year New Heights is proud to offer multiple FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Robotics Teams. FLL teams work together to build and program LEGO EV3 robots to solve technical challenges using the international theme of Into Orbit. Through research, hands on field trips, and special guests, teams will also determine a community need based around space. Then teams will present a unique solution to a team of judges. Teams will compete at UNH in November. Price includes program, full day of team-building, field trips, team t-shirt, celebrations, and competitions. This popular program fills up quickly, so don’t delay becoming part of our award winning teams!

FIRST Robotics Competition - The Wire Clippers - High School
$450
During FIRST Robotics Competition, 20ish high-school participants will work together under strict rules, limited resources, and an intense six-week time limit. Teams are challenged to raise funds, design a team brand, hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. We ask that participants in this program commit to at least 2 days after school as well as attending two three-day competitions (March and April).

Destination Imagination - High School School

Destination Imagination is an international program that is an amazing outlet for creativity, while teaching leadership, teamwork, positive thinking, and project management. Spring Robotics - 3rd-5th Grade

Join us for 8 weeks of robotics exploration! We will play with LEGO WeDo kits, LEGO EV3 robots and Mindstorm programming, the NAO robot and more! Students will get to program our middle school teams’ LEGO robots, completing missions on the 2017-2018 robotics mat.
